Sound waves, risin' & fallin'

Ain't our lives like that, I know you won't agree, but when have we agreed before,,,

Looks like start of another abstract post, but it ain't one. I am just gonna list down few of the songs that I have been playin around these days. It is quite a mixed bag, so here they go.

1. Your Bangles||Dr. Zeus feat. Master Rakesh||Streets: This is another mix of the classic "Kangna tera ne", by Zeus himself. The original is so good, so whichever way you twist or turn it, its always gonna be sweet for the ears. Also I have a lil' sweet spot for the girl in 'Gangster' named Kangna, so I think I am somewhat biased towards this song.

2. Tings||Dr. Zeus feat. Lehmber||Streets: Another great mix from Zeus. I dunno how this keeps on improving such classics. For the uninitiated this is the mix of '3 cheeja'n' (three things) from Unda da Influence album. The female hook in this song just takes it up another level.
Sach de manzil aukhi hai, jehre mil de hai mar mar ke,
Jaa thal vich sarh jayeye, ja phir kache ghare te tar ke,

3.Separation||Dr. Zeus||Streets: This one reminds of the old skool Ranjit Mani tracks. All those college love tracks of 90's,like 'Kathe college padhde sa','Mere ranjhe da Principal je' etc. Getting nostalgic...I will leave this track at this,,

4. Fanaa for you||DJ Aqueel feat Shaan & Kailash Kher||OST Fanaa: DJ Aqueel rocks it again. The guitar riffs do the trick in this track for me, and Kailash Kher rocks as usual. More on him later, I have been listening to his album quite a bit, but it deserves a separate posting for itself. And I think this is last movie for which Jatin-lalit are giving music as a pair.

5. Tu hi Meri Shab hai||Pritam feat KK||OST Gangster: I have been fan of gangster movies for a long time, but this one got great soundtrack. Wanna hear a soothing song at the end of day, this is da one. KK's got it nailed to the perfection. And bollywood's famous Kiss machine Emraan always get the best songs. This song is one the evergreen variety, you can compare it with tracks from flicks like 'Phir teri kahani yaad aaye'( I know all ya Anu malik fans will be grinning)

6. Mujhe Mat roko||Pritam feat. Kavya seth||OST Gangster: Dont stop me, jus' let me go ... This subtle dedication to love, is just amazing. I haven't heard such a brilliant song for a long time, its got a sufi tilt to it,it brings out the pain of a soul longing for its body, a creature longing for its creator, the dedication to pursue HIM to the end.

Part 2 coming as soon as I get some time ....

Chn-->Bangkok-->Tokyo-->Seattle

The Thai airways flight from Chennai to Bangkok was fully jam packed and as usual the flight comfort was not even comparable to the Indian railways sleeper class. Anyways the highlight of the journey was big tour group on their way to Bangkok (conducted by JTB). For the first time in so many years I saw people pateling inside the plane. It looked a bit weird, but it was fun to see the faces of some of the foreigners. After that I dozed off, only to be woken up by strains of apdi podu from few rows behind me. And lo behold, some kind of antashkari was going on in there. About the flight service, it was mediocre, I was expecting a little bit better from Thai airways. Following points summarize my virgin flight experience with Thai airways:
• Seats were too cramped
• Food was ok, nothing much to mention about.
• Air hostesses were wearing a pretty traditional dress. (Hopefully airlines will go into cost cutting sometime soon )

If not for some eye candy provided by sexy gal in a skimpy adidas top, it would have been one of my worst flights ever.

So finally the flight landed and I woke up fully cramped up (I should have done all the exercises they were showing on the monitor) and we entered the SwarnaBhumi airport at Bangkok. Bangkok. I could not see much of the airport as there wasn’t much time between the flights and also it was deserted at the wee hours of the morning. Got my boarding pass, went through security, and answered few questions of the suspicious airport officials. If you will see my passport, you will get suspicious too, though I feel Europeans/Americans in general are a more trusting race as compared to us, Asians. (I am good at making sweeping generalizations.)

And the misfortunes of my journey continued, I got a seat in the middle this time. And surprise was that there was another desi sitting besides me, I think that was the only other desi in the flight, do these airlines guys have some algorithm to make the guys from same country sit together. The scenery around was somewhat pleasant this time and journey passed peacefully.

Now I am sitting in the Narita airport, Tokyo and trying to type this, surrounded by lots of Japanese chicks.

This one seems to be pretty good airport, even the Bangkok airport had a pretty big shopping section. But still the shopping area of Heathrow seems to out shadow ‘em all. Or might be I am biased towards Heathrow as you hear some Punjabi or Hindi talk in every third shop. And if you go to Heathrow, make sure you go to the Nike shop there and spend some time. The reason for this recommendation, ah, it should not be too difficult to guess, there is an awesome looking desi gal that works there. The big difference between the European route and eastern route is that there are few desi’s on the eastern route. So all the veg people think atleast two times before traveling this side, you might not get all that aloo gobhi here

Man, I think I need to learn Japanese or whatever language these gals sitting besides me are talking in and laughing aloud. Thankfully I don’t suffer from the same phobia as one of our managers suffers from, otherwise I would have gone into depression thinking that these gals are talking about me and laughing.

I think I will sign off now, wrote everything that I saw in the few hours I was awake during this journey.

Enjoy maadi

Never got stuck before

With empty palms people act empty,
those who got a lot act like they don't have plenty,
so u say u getting places but u ain't moving at all,
still some race on and some sit back and wait for his call

-- Outlandish, Walou

I have listened to this song so many times before, but these verses got stuck in my head today. I dunno there was something in the Chennai air in the morning(apart from the humidity),it just got stuck ... and I have been humming them from the morning.

Never got stuck before (I am lying, sometimes i get stuck with Himesh resh-chamiyya songs also).

Ponty Manesar

Something to chuckle at..
