To stand or To walk away
His life taught me there's a time to stand your ground. His death taught me there's a time to walk away

Closing on to middle ground
"How did it happen, why did it happen, whom to blame for it?"
"Should I also blame god for everything that happened, after all I credited him for everything that was happening before? A'int that what we invented God for, we the smartest beings on face of this mud-ball."
"Should I blame myself for letting life do this to me, am I too weak to fight the things life is throwing at me"
Now I will leave this in middle and run away, some way to pull some bull crap.

Rant...
I wanna feel the same energy in my feet, same enthusiasm in my spirit, same crazy idea about the world, spewing random lines without any care in world.
C'mon get up on yer feet, the energy is still bublin', a lil' under the surface though, c'mon tap it, don't waste it, let the turbine of your life harness it.
Don't waste no time, no more, this is the tipping point. See the happiness in their faces, the joie de vivre.
Every second counts from now onwards...........
PS: Nostalgia hit :-)

Hue, cry and Peace
Well, show me the way
To the next whiskey bar
Oh, don't ask why
Oh, don't ask why
Show me the way
To the next whiskey bar
Oh, don't ask why
Oh, don't ask why
For if we don't find
The next whiskey bar
I tell you we must die
I tell you we must die
I tell you, i tell you i tell you we must die
Oh, moon of alabama
We now must say goodbye
We've lost our good old mama
And must have whiskey, oh, you know why
Oh, moon of alabama
We now must say goodbye
We've lost our good old mama
And must have whiskey, oh, you know why
Well, show me the way
To the next little girl
Oh, don't ask why
Oh, don't ask why
Show me the way
To the next little girl
Oh, don't ask why oh, don't ask why
For if we don't find
The next little girl
I tell you we must die
I tell you we must die
I tell you, i tell you i tell you we must die
Oh, moon of alabama
We now must say goodbye
We've lost our good old mama
And must have whiskey, oh, you know why

Falls in black & white,,, and shades of grey
Waterfall, what was frozen then is now falling again
Waterfall, what was frozen then is now falling again
I'll live without you...
In the days of old, in the days of gold,
How oftentimes I repine
For the days of old
When we dug up the gold,
In the days of '49..
We're livin' on the edge
You can't help yourself from fallin'
Livin' on the edge
You can't help yourself at all
Livin' on the edge
You can't stop yourself from fallin'
Livin' on the edge
And I wonder if you know
How it really feels
To be left outside alone
When it's cold out here
Well maybe you should know
Just how it feels
To be left outside alone
To be left outside alone

Big City Life
The Linguist across the seas and the oceans,
A permanent Itinerant is what I;ve chosen.
I find myself in Big City prison, arisen from the vision of man kind.
Designed, to keep me discreetly neatly in the corner,
you'll find me with the flora and the fauna and the hardship.
Back a yard is where my heart is still I find it hard to depart this Big City Life.

Good & bad ... another rant
Anyways the good news is that i found some videos of old univ. days, those youth fests. and dances , Nice nostalgic memories, and it was good to see myself lean and young, those were the days when kids used to call me 'Bhaiya' or 'veere' (thats the same in panjabi), not 'Uncle'. All the guys can vouch for the fact that transition from that 'Bhaiya' to 'Uncle' comes without a warning and you are just left to ponder whoa what happened. And if you are still single by the time, all the members of the auntie team will start bugging you , beta when you gonna get married, you know ***** daughther(After living in south india for so many years, i have started to put h wherever i see a t) has just completed her MSc, she z a very nice gal . What can I say, I find all the gals to be very nice , and as its universally known gals can of only of two varities, either good or very good. Indian parents are very good at playing that emotional cold war to nudge you towards an arranged marriage. Here are some of the weapons of war:
* All the gals are getting married. Keeping in mind the skewed sex ratio in panjab, this seems to be a valid reason.
* I want to see you married before my retirement, like panjab govt will refuse to give pension benefits if any of the kids is unmarried.
* We need someone to take care of you,, Valid argument, i also need some one to take car of me ..
* Silent with hard probing looks, we get so lonely here , means we want grand-kids,
but the best one is from my cousins ,,,
* There are so many good bhangra songs at the moment ,, why are you not getting married ,, Haha like Jazzy B gonna stop singing if I dont get married this summer..
Any of you guys got some excuses to buy some time, holler back ..

Satyam Story: The reasons
When the indian IT industry started booming somewhere in late 90's, there were four major players grabbing all the headlines. And they were TCS, Wipro, Infosys and Satyam. While the other three continued their ascent, Satyam lost its way somewhere and got booted out of the top bracket. After a long soul search Satyam management have finally found the reasons for this, ah wait not reasons actually their is a 'single' reason for that and that is the 'unprofessional' behaviour of the female empoyees.
According to the HR chief of Satyam, once women reach the age of 30-35 they become complacent and dont want to forge ahead. This shows the lack of dedication to the company, when all employees are expected to work for 14 hrs a day, these women folk leaving early for home create an unhealthy atmosphere in the company. What if all the males also start showing interest in their family life?? Just imagine the impact on the industry which is totally based on the concept of labor cost arbitrage.
Another interesting point found in this study is that single women especially the divorced ones have been responsible for slow growth of satym. Mr. Murthy thinks that single or divorced women is an concept alien to Indian culture and having these women in more visible position, affects the values and culture of Indian companies. As seeing these symbols of western civilization in power might encourage others to embrace it and start demanding blasphemous things like 40 hour weeks, yearly vacations, overtime etc. That will be the end of road for us.

Sound Waves - Rising and Fallin'
The history of hunt will always glorify the hunters, until tigers have their own historians.
1. Joban||Yudhvir Manak||Dil Dharkey: A refreshing song, not anything new, but the same manak style, a good hear. And I think the only decent one on this album.
2. President||Wyclef Jean||Welcome to Haiti: Got amazing lyrics.Just Check em out
3. A Ballad for the fallen soldier||Jay Z||The Blueprint: Jay Z compares the life on a soldier and a hustler on the street. An interesting take.
4. Happy B'Day||Flipsyde: In this one the MC from Flipsyde raps about the his 'never to be born child'. Again one with some great and touching lyrics
Cheers

Sound waves, risin' & fallin'
Looks like start of another abstract post, but it ain't one. I am just gonna list down few of the songs that I have been playin around these days. It is quite a mixed bag, so here they go.
1. Your Bangles||Dr. Zeus feat. Master Rakesh||Streets: This is another mix of the classic "Kangna tera ne", by Zeus himself. The original is so good, so whichever way you twist or turn it, its always gonna be sweet for the ears. Also I have a lil' sweet spot for the girl in 'Gangster' named Kangna, so I think I am somewhat biased towards this song.
2. Tings||Dr. Zeus feat. Lehmber||Streets: Another great mix from Zeus. I dunno how this keeps on improving such classics. For the uninitiated this is the mix of '3 cheeja'n' (three things) from Unda da Influence album. The female hook in this song just takes it up another level.
Sach de manzil aukhi hai, jehre mil de hai mar mar ke,
Jaa thal vich sarh jayeye, ja phir kache ghare te tar ke,
3.Separation||Dr. Zeus||Streets: This one reminds of the old skool Ranjit Mani tracks. All those college love tracks of 90's,like 'Kathe college padhde sa','Mere ranjhe da Principal je' etc. Getting nostalgic...I will leave this track at this,,
4. Fanaa for you||DJ Aqueel feat Shaan & Kailash Kher||OST Fanaa: DJ Aqueel rocks it again. The guitar riffs do the trick in this track for me, and Kailash Kher rocks as usual. More on him later, I have been listening to his album quite a bit, but it deserves a separate posting for itself. And I think this is last movie for which Jatin-lalit are giving music as a pair.
5. Tu hi Meri Shab hai||Pritam feat KK||OST Gangster: I have been fan of gangster movies for a long time, but this one got great soundtrack. Wanna hear a soothing song at the end of day, this is da one. KK's got it nailed to the perfection. And bollywood's famous Kiss machine Emraan always get the best songs. This song is one the evergreen variety, you can compare it with tracks from flicks like 'Phir teri kahani yaad aaye'( I know all ya Anu malik fans will be grinning)
6. Mujhe Mat roko||Pritam feat. Kavya seth||OST Gangster: Dont stop me, jus' let me go ... This subtle dedication to love, is just amazing. I haven't heard such a brilliant song for a long time, its got a sufi tilt to it,it brings out the pain of a soul longing for its body, a creature longing for its creator, the dedication to pursue HIM to the end.
Part 2 coming as soon as I get some time ....

Chn-->Bangkok-->Tokyo-->Seattle
• Seats were too cramped
• Food was ok, nothing much to mention about.
• Air hostesses were wearing a pretty traditional dress. (Hopefully airlines will go into cost cutting sometime soon )
If not for some eye candy provided by sexy gal in a skimpy adidas top, it would have been one of my worst flights ever.
So finally the flight landed and I woke up fully cramped up (I should have done all the exercises they were showing on the monitor) and we entered the SwarnaBhumi airport at Bangkok. Bangkok. I could not see much of the airport as there wasn’t much time between the flights and also it was deserted at the wee hours of the morning. Got my boarding pass, went through security, and answered few questions of the suspicious airport officials. If you will see my passport, you will get suspicious too, though I feel Europeans/Americans in general are a more trusting race as compared to us, Asians. (I am good at making sweeping generalizations.)
And the misfortunes of my journey continued, I got a seat in the middle this time. And surprise was that there was another desi sitting besides me, I think that was the only other desi in the flight, do these airlines guys have some algorithm to make the guys from same country sit together. The scenery around was somewhat pleasant this time and journey passed peacefully.
Now I am sitting in the Narita airport, Tokyo and trying to type this, surrounded by lots of Japanese chicks.
This one seems to be pretty good airport, even the Bangkok airport had a pretty big shopping section. But still the shopping area of Heathrow seems to out shadow ‘em all. Or might be I am biased towards Heathrow as you hear some Punjabi or Hindi talk in every third shop. And if you go to Heathrow, make sure you go to the Nike shop there and spend some time. The reason for this recommendation, ah, it should not be too difficult to guess, there is an awesome looking desi gal that works there. The big difference between the European route and eastern route is that there are few desi’s on the eastern route. So all the veg people think atleast two times before traveling this side, you might not get all that aloo gobhi here
Man, I think I need to learn Japanese or whatever language these gals sitting besides me are talking in and laughing aloud. Thankfully I don’t suffer from the same phobia as one of our managers suffers from, otherwise I would have gone into depression thinking that these gals are talking about me and laughing.
I think I will sign off now, wrote everything that I saw in the few hours I was awake during this journey.
Enjoy maadi

I have listened to this song so many times before, but these verses got stuck in my head today. I dunno there was something in the Chennai air in the morning(apart from the humidity),it just got stuck ... and I have been humming them from the morning.
Never got stuck before (I am lying, sometimes i get stuck with Himesh resh-chamiyya songs also).

Back to blog and Usa..
I am back in USA ( don't ask for how many days) after about month and half in India... Visited my family for about 10 days ,,, met all my folks ,, had a ripper of a time except for the overwhelming 'Shaadi' talk,,,, somehow i managed to run off ,, all of you who dont know about the concept of arranged marriages in india, I can explain it later using the (in)famous 'Slot machine' theory.
Was in chennai for about a month and ahhh what a month it was ,,, slogging in office for hours and hours and still the project was scrapped ,,,, all that 24/7 work and working Xmass and New year eve went waste ,,,
So again back in USA doing " who knows what " ,,,, let me find out and i will get back to blogging then ,,,,
